Millions are missing out on cheaper internet options
A recent survey by Citizens Advice suggests that up to one million people cancelled their broadband in the last year because of the high cost of living.
With so many services now offered online we know that maintaining your connection can be essential, but that can be difficult when balancing other commitments.
If you’re struggling you may want to look at Social Tariffs for your phone or broadband. You may not have heard of them before, (less than 5% of people who are eligible have taken them up), but the savings can be substantial. Current prices range from £10 to £20 a month.
Social tariffs are cheaper broadband and phone packages for people claiming Universal Credit, Pension Credit and some other benefits. Some providers call them ‘essential’ or ‘basic’ broadband. They’re delivered in the same way as normal packages, just at a lower price.
Take a look at Ofgem’s guide to Social Tariffs to see what your options are if you’re looking to make savings.
