Here, we hear how team members Sarah, Gillian and Angie Hall, who have found the past year.

Since the pandemic hit, our staff have been working hard to keep Unify Credit Union services running and to support our members during this challenging time to keep control of their money matters with affordable loans and easy ways to save. Here, we hear how team members Sarah, Gillian and Angie Hall, who have found the past year.

Sarah, Finance Assistant:   

How has Unify adapted to support members during this time?

Unify has adapted to be able to process all loans online so as not to affect members applying for loans at this challenging time.

Have you learned anything about members, the Unify team, or yourself during this challenging time?

The members have been really accepting of the branch closures and have taken really well to the new online procedures when they originally didn’t think they could do it. In fact, the majority of members have said they have found it a lot easier and will continue to apply this way.

 

Angie, Member Services Assistant: 

How has your role been affected by the pandemic?

Not being able to serve members face to face and have the same interaction with them - but the move to offering all of our services online has meant we have been able to continue supporting our Members throughout the pandemic.

How has Unify adapted to support members during this time?

We have supported them by continuously adapting procedures to suit the members’ needs, and by simplifying things as much as possible for them.  

Have you learned anything about members, the Unify team, or yourself during this challenging time?

That when faced with adversity we can all come together and adapt to a new way of doing things, both staff and members.

What advice would you give to members to manage their money in 2021?

To continue to save & borrow with the credit union and not to get sucked into borrowing from doorstep lenders. 

  

Gillian Roughley, Member Service Advisor: 

 How has Unify adapted to support members during this time?  

There are more online facilities and e-signatures, allowing new member and loan applications. Members can still do everything needed online, by phone or via email.

Have you learned anything about members, the Unify team or yourself during this challenging time?

Our members are generally lovely people and understanding of the situation. We, as a team all work excellently together. 

What advice would you give to members to manage their money in 2021? Just to save a little every week as this quickly adds up throughout the year
